Q: Do I need any previous dance experience?
A: You do not need any previous dance experience. All dance levels welcome. The basics are taught to you in class in simple easy to follow steps. If you do happen to have previous dance experience, this is a good way to add new learned moves/styles to your experience
Q: What kind of intensity should I expect?
A: Zumba® fitness is a High/Low impact class. Be prepared to sweat, learn moves
and have fun! Beginners are encouraged to attend. Go at your own pace and as always… listen to your body.
Q: What should I wear?
A: Wear comfortable clothing. Basically “work out gear.” Good comfortable
sneakers are very helpful preferably with skid proof sole. The best ones for a Zumba® workout are ones that absorb shock. If you have dance shoes bring those because they allow for easier movement.
Q: What should I bring?
A: Water!!! As with any workout, always keep yourself hydrated.
A towel! Bringing a towel really helps with removing access sweat because you WILL sweat!
A friend! Get friends to come with you to Zumba® class! This will give you
that extra boost to stay motivated and an accountability partner to assist you with fulfilling your health goal.
Last but not least bring an open mind, a sense of humor, and a big smile!
Q: I can’t get the steps! What should I do?
A: Practice, practice, practice! Sometimes an hour of class time just isn’t enough to get all of the footwork. After repeating the movements, you will be a pro in no time. Practice makes perfect! Stick with it!
Q: Do I need a partner?
A: Not at all. Zumba® fitness has an aerobics class feel. Everyone is learning the steps individually so no partner is needed.
